Obsidian scalpel dangers9/3/2023 ![]() Obsidian is therefore presented as a natural glass, completely similar to that produced by man. The atoms assume a chaotic, amorphous arrangement, as in a superviscous liquid. The rapidity of cooling precludes the ordered formation of a crystalline lattice. Obsidian belongs to the category of extrusive igneous rocks: product of the rapid cooling of the lava flow, rich in silica. According to the testimony of Pliny the Elder (XNUMXst century BC), this natural glass owes its name to the Roman merchant and explorer Obsius or Obsidius, who discovered it in Ethiopia. ![]() Moths are also drawn to flames.Obsidian is one of the main indicators of prehistoric archeology, a volcanic glass highly sought after in the Mediterranean basin thanks to its many qualities. ![]() But I see a light - a golden light as bright as the sun that you will be drawn to without a choice. "So many shadows to navigate in the gathering darkness. I know that you could be brave if you'd allow yourself the chance." They complement each other in so many different ways and I hope they cross path in the future or even have their own book together. One things I liked about the two boys is that they have very similar personalities but are also very different at the same time. Magnus gives Maddox the courage to stand up to his guardian Livius, to protect his pride and family while also standing up for himself. As you get to know the person you help them grow in many ways you didn't know. The friendship between these two boys warms my heart because, as the start of every friendship, people are weary of each other. I really enjoyed this short story because, as I'm waiting for the two final books in each series these two boys are involved in, I get to hear about this adventure they might never have again. In the 6 chapters of this eBook, Magnus goes on a little adventure with a witch boy, who might make him see and believe the world in a different light. While trying to find this women he runs into familiar characters that we have read from before. Before Magnus can object, he is thrust in this time were it seems he is 100 years back. This old women comes to tell Magnus he has a quest with an obsidian blade and must go back in time to find a women name Samara Balto. As the royal party looks around for a new temple to worship their goddess Valoria, Magnus gets a little sidetracked away from the group. I definitely think it’s a crossover kind of read that is just for enjoyment, because I am not really seeing anything that will serve a purpose in the Falling Kingdoms world, as for the Spirts and Thieves world, that will remain to be seen until I get myself reacquainted with that world! Definitely a must read for fans of both these series!ĥ Magnus and Maddox should have a book together starsġ6 year old Magnus is traveling in northern Limeros, with his father. This was definitely a short read of 50 some odd pages (according to my Kindle) but it was still a fun little read! I love crossovers and I hadn’t really expected to see one with these two series since they are several hundred years apart time wise. He’s cold in order to keep himself from being hurt further. ![]() But even then, he was still that boy just wanting to find somewhere to belong and have someone care about him. So it was sort of odd to see him being his old self. This story takes place before Falling Kingdoms I think, Magnus is sixteen…and though I can’t remember his age currently I know it’s older than that. Magnus is going to have to find some help for this one, which as you know, Magnus isn’t one to ask for help. I hope to be reading the next book in that series somewhat soon.Īnyway, in this story, Magnus is thrust back in time, to Maddox’s time, in order to deliver an obsidian blade to a witch. But I do vaguely recall Maddox, but only vaguely, sadly. Obsidian Blade was a quick little read that combines Morgan Rhodes Falling Kingdoms and Spirits and Thieves series! Magnus meets Maddox, if you will! It’s been a long time since I read A Book of Spirits and Thieves and can’t quite remember it much.
